What to Expect When You Visit

Attending a new church can be an uneasy experience whether you are returning to church after a long time away or are coming for the first time. Many wonder: What will it be like? What is expected of me? Will they ask for my money? What should I wear? What will be offered for my children? Many people have these and other concerns when attending a new church. Hopefully this information will put you at ease when you come to Wake Chapel and help you enjoy and benefit spiritually from your visit with us. We want you to feel welcome from the minute you arrive at Wake Chapel. You are our guest, and we want to treat you like you are visiting our home.

Dress

When you visit with us you will find everything from "traditional" church attire to "office casual." Most of our youth dress informally. We encourage dress that is comfortable for you yet appropriate for worship.

For Your Children

Nursery is provided for children up to age two. Sunday School classes are available for children beginning at age two. Classes are separated appropriately by age through the 5th grade. These classes are designed to teach the children basic biblical principles that will lead to greater understanding of God's Word as children grow. Our Noah's Ark class serves children with special needs and offers a low student-to-teacher ratio.

During the worship service we have a special Children's Church for children age two through Kindergarten. Children in 1st grade and above are encouraged to remain with their parents in worship service.

Youth Classes

At Wake Chapel we have two classes for our youth: Middle School and Senior High. These classes are led by adult church members and include both topical and verse-by-verse study of the Bible.

Adult Classes

For adults, a wide variety of classes exist. To choose the class most interesting to you please click on the Sunday School link above.

Worship Service

Our services provide an opportunity to worship our great God through music, prayer and studying God's Word. Our ushers will give you a bulletin at the entrance of the sanctuary. During the service a special packet of information is distributed to all of our guests, including a slip that can be turned in with the offering that provides an easy way for us to get better acquainted.

At Wake Chapel, we subscribe to a traditional style of music, offering a pleasing blend of the great hymns of faith, as well as choruses and anthems. Preaching from the pulpit is typically expository in nature, though occasionally our pastor will present a short topical series. Though our worship is usually traditional, we also have special services periodically. These include Youth Sundays, in which the service is led primarily by the church youth, hymn sings, and seasonal programs during the Easter and Christmas holidays.

We hope this information is helpful to you and that you will choose to worship with us this Sunday.
