Our commitment
We are seeking to live and act biblically. While our understanding
of God’s truth is yet incomplete and our practice of it is yet imperfect, we are
committed to the Word of God as the authoritative foundation of our faith and conduct,
including the music ministry.
We honor our unique heritage. We respect the practices of other like-minded churches
of our day. We appreciate differences in taste. But these, too, must all submit to the
contents, principles, and instructions of God’s Word. In music, as in all other dimensions
of church life, the Bible must be the authority.
Our purpose is to minister. . .
- Ministry to the Lord – to glorify God
- Ministry to the Lord’s people – to edify the church
- Ministry to the world – to testify to those who do not know Christ personally
- We are committed to offer:
- Musical excellence
- Ongoing development of our skills
- Hearts that are right toward God
Our Process
We actively seek to discover the musical gifts which God has placed within
the body of Christ at Wake Chapel Church. As God adds His musicians to the church, we are
committed to train and disciple those musical gifts. We seek to provide continual release
of these musical gifts into active ministry.
Present Ministry Opportunities
Opportunities for Adults in Music Ministry
The Chancel Choir is made up of young and older adult
singers. This group carries the primary musical responsibility for the regular morning
worship services. Rehearsal times are Wednesdays at 8:00 PM and Sunday morning warm-up
at 10:15 AM.
The Adult Handbell Choir rehearses on Wednesdays before Bible Study from
6:15 to 7:00 PM.
We particularly welcome instrumentalists and keyboard musicians.
Opportunities for Children in Music Ministry
The mission of our children's choirs is to provide opportunities for children to learn musical skills in partnership with a musical team and to use those skills in worshipping the Lord and ministering to the church body.
The Children's Choirs are directed by Kathy Arnold.
Children's choirs are separated into two age groups: 2 years old through 1st grade and 2nd grade through 5th grade.
The Children's Handchimes Choir is directed by Jenni Keith and Sherri Jones. This choir is for Pre-K through 1st grade.
The Children's Handbell Choir is directed by Claudia & Tom Dickens. This choir is for 2nd grade through 5th grade.
Our children's choirs meet on Wednesday evenings at 6:45.
