Titus 2 Ministry

Many times within the local church, members often find themselves segregated into various groups based on age. Rarely is this seen more clearly than among the women of the church. Seldom does a young mother with babe in arms have the opportunity to glean godly wisdom from the octogenarian who raised her family decades earlier. Rather, that young mom is often relegated to look to her peers for guidance, though they may be in need of direction themselves.

But, this was not God’s plan. He specifically addresses this issue in His Word.

In Titus 2:3-5, the apostle Paul outlines the pattern for training women in the Body of Christ.

Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husband, so that no one will malign the word of God. (NIV).

In the Spring of 2000, several women at Wake Chapel recognized a need within our church family and community to see this biblical pattern of “older women” instructing the “younger women” fleshed out. And, the Titus 2 ministry was born. Titus 2 is a community-based ministry of moms, for moms. It exists to train, challenge, and support moms as they strive to raise a godly heritage. We enjoy engaging speakers, lively discussion, and encouraging fellowship. Moms of all ages are welcome to attend. We meet monthly on the 3rd Tuesday evening of each month September through May (except December) from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall (located in the main church building).
