I wanted to send you the latest announcement from our church leadership regarding public gatherings at Wake Chapel:
In cooperation with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services' most recent guidelines for closures and gathering restrictions, Wake Chapel has canceled all regularly scheduled services and events until further notice. All other official Wake Chapel events scheduled between today, March 18, and the lifting of Governor Roy Cooper’s Executive Order, will not meet as scheduled. We will assess, in due time, whether we can reschedule these events.
Because this impacts our ability to host Awana on Sunday night, we want to make changes to the way we do club so that your children can continue to learn from and lean on God's Word.
Using this plan, children have the opportunity to stay on track, and it gives your family access to Awana resources for your devotional time. We are so proud of our students and the diligence they have put into studying and memorizing God's Word this year in Awana. We pray that they will continue to commit to completing their handbook assignments.
In Step 5 - When sending a photo or video, please make sure you indicate whether the student is a Cubbie, Spark (HangGlider, WingRunner, or SkyStormer handbook), or T&T and which section he/she is completing. For T&T, please also let me know if the student completed the Silver/Gold bonus work. I will keep a record of completed work for the small group leaders. Hopefully this will be a short-lived solution and we will be back to our regular meetings soon.
We are thinking of you and praying for your families as we are away from each other at this time. If you do not have a church home or are unable to attend your regular congregation due to restrictions, please join us on Sunday mornings at 10:30 for our livestream worship service: www.wakechapelchurch.org.
Please let me know if you have questions or need assistance.
With Grace and Gratitude,
Children's Ministry Director
