better together2Dear Ladies,

Your Executive Board and I are excited to present our activities for the 2016-2017 Women’s Fellowship year. The Board has already spent many hours this summer preparing for the year, so please thank them at our September meeting!

We have a very busy year ahead of us. It is going to take all of us contributing our time and energy as we work together to further the Kingdom of God. So let’s be “WOMEN OF PURPOSE” this year and make a difference in the lives of women and families of Wake Chapel, our community, and our missionaries. I believe we are at a critical time in our community, nation and world, where Christians should especially band together to support each other and reach out to the unsaved of the world.
Activities for the coming year include:

September – Kick off the year with our Covered Dish on September 8 in the Family Life Center and be sure to invite potential new members. At this important meeting, we will adopt our missions budget and vote on Fellowship business. One item of Fellowship business includes voting on our Scholarship Guidelines, which have been revamped, to make this money available to our college students.

October - “Souper Shopping Spree” Silent Auction fundraiser on October 21 in the Family Life Center. Our proceeds will be distributed between our own Fuquay mission, Hand of Hope (50%), WCC Youth (30%), and Women’s Fellowship (20%). You can also make your own Blessings Bags to hand out to the needy in the community.

December - Operation Christmas Child (date TBD) and all our lovely Christmas meetings.

January through March, 2017 - Upward Basketball concessions.

May – On May 4, 2017, we will hold our annual Gala in the Family Life Center.
We are supporting a new ministry where circles adopt college age WCC students. Support includes monthly cards to students and care packages at exam time. We are also exploring the possibility of reaching out to Campbell College students and inviting them to our new college age Sunday School class.

So ladies, rest up, we have lots of work to do this year for our Lord and church! Let’s make the 2016-2017 Women’s Fellowship year our most productive and unified ever.

Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. - Philippians 2:1-2 NIV
