Aggravatingly Inconvenient

pastor1Some good things are just untimely. It’s like getting a phone call when you’re checking out at the store, or getting a text while you’re at the dinner table. Or have you ever been in a hurry, but someone keeps dragging out a conversation.

All these things can be an aggravation can’t they? I don’t know about you but some days it seems like my phone always seems to buzz at the most inconvenient times. But, do you know what method of communication I’ve found that’s NEVER inconvenient? It may seem a little outdated, but it never gets old. It’s when you get an encouraging note mailed personally to you.

How wonderful it is to be on the receiving end of such kindness and thoughtfulness! The level of compassion that is shown when someone handwrites just a handful of encouraging words is unparalleled to any other form of communication. It shows that someone was thinking about you, and cared enough about you to put in the extra effort. Birthday, thinking of you, sympathy, and other encouraging cards always come at a good time! Unlike bills and junk mail, no one has ever complained or groaned when they are sent such encouraging letters.

Yes, it takes more effort than a text or phone call, but from my experience, it’s totally worth it. Go the extra mile and send someone a letter this month. In a world where more love is surely needed, a kind letter is a 100% effective way of encouraging
someone at the appropriate time.
