On Thanksgiving

Pastors pen G

Do you have vision?
Do you have a sound mind?
  Can you read?
Has God given you a family?
Do you have sufficient clothes to wear?
Do you have food in your pantry and freezer?
Do you enjoy the companionship of friends?
       Is your house warm?
Does God hear and answer your prayers?
Do you have a good physician?
Do you have work to do?
              Can you hear?

Why ask these questions?

Better question--why not ask more questions like these?

As I was thinking about these questions and putting a few of them in writing, I found praise and thanksgiving springing up in my heart. Friends, we do indeed have so very much for which to be thankful.

Thanksgiving is the twin sister of praise.

Think back over the months since last Thanksgiving Day. What has the Lord done for you since then? Meditate on those things.

The Psalmist said it and I believe it is true to our experience as well. He wrote:

"Thou hast crowned the year with Thy bounty..."

Psalm 65:11a

Happy Thanksgiving
