Take a few minutes right now to look around you at Wake Chapel and then breathe a prayer of gratitude and thanksgiving. God, in His indescribable goodness has drawn together some of the sweetest Christian people on this earth to worship here at Wake Chapel. Be thankful for these delightful folks.
Then be thankful for this place. If there is a more beautiful church, if there is a place any more conducive to worship than our sanctuary, I cannot think of where it would be. Our Chrismon tree, with all its deeply symbolic decoration, the Advent Wreath reminding us of the incarnation, and the beautiful flowers – we have much to be thankful for, don’t we?
We are indebted to all those who have given poinsettias and those who have given of themselves so unselfishly to prepare our sanctuary.
Let us commit this season to Christ through His church. It is a contradiction when holidays honoring God’s goodness and His Son’s birth detract from the work and witness of His church. May we give our utmost for His highest during these holy days.
I wish for all blessed holy days and a Merry Christmas!
